If Franken wins (as projected), we only have to get one Republican to get "60" |
|
And we should be able to get one out of these five for most votes:
Olympia Snowe Arlen Specter Susan Collins Lisa Murkowski George Voinovich

7. Google the phrase "Gang of 14" and then tell me about how good he is |
|
The problem with Lieberman isn't his political positions. I'm in agreement with most of those. It's his character--the man is simply not good for his word.

4. I'm thinking we are going to get a republican senator here in IL |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-18-08 08:45 PM by mucifer
people here are REALLY mad at blago and I think most will take it out on the dems.
It seems that there will be a special election.
I expect we will be down by losing Obama's senate seat.

16. I have to imagine some Democrats are still respected. Also, Blago should not have won in 2006 |
|
either and he won by 10 with the Greens getting 10%. I think Illinois is silly Democratic right now.

17. If there is a special election, which does look likely, I think Mark Kirk will run and win. |
|
Sad but true.
Blago really fucked us over.

|
stay in line.... as we saw recently with the BIG 3 Bail out vote... What we need is better Senate leadership, IMO

9. Agree. Those conservative (retrograde) democrats are always throwing wrenches |
|
in the machine. Is there any chance of getting rid of the leadership and replacing it with people who have a spine and principles?
