Do you think a few 'straight-bashing' stories in the press would change some people minds?

I'm not advocating violence against anyone, but do you think that if straight people had to worry about being bashed for their sexuality they would begin to understand what its like to always have to watch your back?

Do you think a few instances of interracial couples being refused marriage licenses would make more people sit up and take notice?

Do you think that maybe a Jewish person being fired for being a Jew would cause people to think before telling us to 'wait' for our rights?

Maybe we need to see a story or two about some Asian man who wasn't allowed to see his wife in the hospital before she died to wake people up. What do you think?

If even one of those things happened all these straight DUers who are telling us to STFU would be in outrage mode, but because it's us, they feel justified in mocking us and alienating us.

Bigotry is not dead in the Democratic party and it's not dead at Democratic Underground.

1. Not every non-gay person is a bigot. Doing that insults even our friends.
You just need a way to marginalize and expose the bigotry. Mocking it and showing it for its uneducated fear based hatred.

2. I didn't insult every non-gay person - only those who are insulting us.
Please read the post and you'll see that.

3. I didn't mean to say you were insulting everyone, Answering the question you posed in the subject.
