Obama is proving that he is basically what he was BEFORE the election:
A Democratic Politician.
With one swift kick to the head in the person of bigot named Warren, he has pissed off a large portion of his base. Now, since my personal observations are that when Democrats aren't fighting against the Republicans, they are busy fighting each other, this frankly comes as no surprise.
He is not a Progressive; he is a Democrat. Best (or worst) of all, he is going to do what a President is SUPPOSED to do --
Govern the whole damn country, showing respect even to those he disagrees with.
Do I think this is bright? Nope. In my humble opinion, we need to kick the asses of every single person who was *EVER* a Bush/Republican supporter, and shame them into hiding in the basement where they belong. Jail terms, preferably at Gitmo, for Rove and company, and some tar-and-feathering for the hate mongering folks at Faux news also seem perfectly reasonable. Let the pendulum swing back toward sanity for a bit, while the blood stops flowing from the wounds inflicted on our democracy before putting out a hand that isn't curled into a fist of outraged fury.
I'm obviously NOT a politician. :eyes: And with views like mine, I couldn't get elected dog catcher.
Obama expects the support of the left, regardless of what he does, because frankly, he is better than the alternative. I don't think he's being particularly bright by pissing us off this early, as he is now making himself a target of BOTH sides. Plus, we're feeling a tad 'uppity' since we helped make his historic election possible, but what do I know? I'm an ignorant, college educated, white woman, with a husband and a couple of babies who voted for him.
I'm disappointed in him. I'll get over it. But so help me God, if he does ONE THING to take away the rights of my people (which while crass, an invocation from this man does not do) who I consider members of the GLBT to be, then when the Repukes start calling for his impeachment, I swear I'll do what he's doing now --
I'll keep silent.
Its not much of a threat, but its the only one I've got.
Not that I think he cares. Then again, Junior doesn't care much about my opinion either, so it looks like Obama is in the same company.
Now THAT is a sad, and frightening, thought.
