In the interest of inclusion, I believe we should give creation scientists a seat at the table
and consider their views on the origins of life when we form our national science policy.

Hopefully we can find some common ground.

over some of the posts a little while ago, I thought the same thing. After all, 12% of Americans
do not belive in religion, and yet this large minority is continually overlooked.

That said, I do not believe they will ever allow creation scientists a seat at the table
in my lifetime ;(

26. That would make the bible wrong.
Since the bible cannot ever be wrong, he must have rode a donkey.

(The donkey part was OT prophesy, if he rode a velociraptor, it would have invalidated him as the messiah, on a prophesy level.)

Oy. I can't believe I took this seriously.

24. While I believe in creation as it is defined in the Bible....
.... I'm not sure I'm down with this strategy. The two schools of thought are kind of mutually exclusive unfortunately. But an intelligent person is able to learn and understand science without compromising her belifes.

Science should be allowed to exist in its own sphere without having to compromise basic theory in order to placate a particular intrest group. Because the next logical step is who's version do we present? The commonly accepted story that God (singular) created the world? Or my personal understanding that GodS (plural, Father, Son and Holy Ghost) created it? My preference for referring to God using masculine pronouns or someone else's preference for using a feminine pronoun? See what i mean.

I was able to make through to adulthood as both a preacher's kid and an anthropolgy minor without being too scarred. You have to be able to compartmentalize things.

27. Sure, give them a seat.
Along with the all the scientists named steve.

Including voices isn't the real problem, the problem is disproportionate inclusion.

If Warren was one of a hundred preachers, with different voices, different views, there would be a lot less anger.

47. On the contrary, it's very pragmatic!
While the haters bicker on their end of the table over what sub-group is the most contemptible, the other side can point and laugh and get some shit done.

See? It's both reachy outy AND pragmaticy. Get them distracted and get some real stuff done. :patriot:

I think we should have the KKK provide security at the inauguration too. It's only fair. Perhaps inclusion will "de-fang" the skinhead movement and open a meaningful dialog between the Christian Identity movement and our new African-American President.
