NOT INVITED!!! JAY Z WAS ASKED NOT TO ATTEND OBAMA'S INAUGURATION!!!
December 21, 2008. There's been tons of speculation as to which artists will be performing at the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama. But MediaTakeOut.com can tell you for sure which artist WON'T!!

MediaTakeOut.com spoke with one well placed insider who claims that the Obama camp has asked Jay Z not to attend the Inauguration. The insider explained, "Some of Jay Z's lyrics make him a lightnig rod for criticism, that's not what needs at the start of his administration ... Too many people are looking for reasons to criticize already, why give them more ammunition."

We're kinda with Obama's folk on this one. Camel face did have some pretty reckless lyrics in the past...

that has nothing to do with Warren (of course) is an ass?

37. Can you not see the big picture? Are you narrow minded and short sighted?
Are you one who cannot learn from mistakes and unravel issues to see a commonalities in issues?

In answer to your question, no. But I do think there is potty mouthery here and not so much thinkery.

So Jay Z is guilty of being a lightening rod for criticism while black and not a evangelical preacher with a mega-church and a new book out. Thanks, President-Obama!

28. I honestly don't think this is true. Jay-Z's wife was invited so this makes no sense.
Edited on Sun Dec-21-08 04:43 PM by Lilyeye
I would be surprised to hear that she would perform at an event where her husband wasn't invite. Mostly because Jay-z was also a huge Obama supporter.

32. Obama should look into her lyrics as well. She's not necessarily Mother Theresa.
I cringe to think that his daughter idolize Beyonce. Though I'm no prude, I think her music and many of her lyrics are way inappropriate for young girls, not to mention her suggestive dance movements in videos and such.

6. for real!
One gossip board i frequent actually made up a story about a celebrity just to see if MTO would post it and act like they had an inside source. It was posted within 1 hour of our fake story. I doubt they would tell someone NOT to attend, I mean he raised a lot of money through concerts for him. But he probably wanted to perform in DC during the inauguration weekend and be very visible and they probably didn't want that.

15. Oh please, this is bullshit. Obama has openly said Jay-z is one of his favorite music artists.
Jay-z also campaigned for Obama. Obama loves the "American Gangsta" album.

Perhaps they didn't invite Jay-z to perform, but they certainly didn't tell him not to attend.

This thread should be closed.

31. So let me get this straight: Jay-Z who has turned his life around, is married, and is supportive
of extending civil rights to all, who has given back to his community...he cannot attend the inauguration. But Rick Warren, who continues to offend a huge segment of the population--NOT JUST GAYS/LESBIANS--with his hateful rhetoric will give an invocation prayer at the inauguration? Please help me understand this.

I mean if Obama said "no" to Jay-Z you'd think someone else would have picked up on this like MTV News or Rolling Stone.

I'm having my doubts until a more reliable news source comes thru.
