Poll question: Which Baptist minister would have stirred more controversy? Rev. Jesse Jackson or Pastor Rick Warren
Edited on Mon Dec-22-08 12:16 AM by prodn2000
Reverend Jesse Jackson

Pastor Rick Warren

And from a personal standpoint, I have loathed Pastor Warren since the Terri Schiavo saga.

1. I had no idea Warren was a fat tub of lard and a hateful bigot
but of course Jackson would never be selected. He is too leftwing. Unity and healing excludes the left.

There is nothing controversial about Jessie Jackson.

6. It is an insult to the civil rights movement that anyone would put them in the same poll.
It's horrendous.

12. Comparing the two is like comparing Adolf Hitler to Bill Clinton.
It smells of bullshit, and doesn't belong on a Democratic board.

13. It is not a comparison.
One is from the left, and one is from the right.

Religious and political celebrities that have large followings.

And, again, Warren is TRASH because of his thoughtless and hurtful statements during the Schiavo saga.

16. I think some of us are missing the point of the poll, and questioning your motives.
I'll stop implying anything about your motives, and let you have the floor to answer why you created this poll.

Feel free. Because to me, this looks fishy.

17. I picked an icon of the religious left and an icon of the religious right
And I used a very unflattering picture of Pastor Warren as a contrast of a very nice picture of Reverend Jackson.

From all of the "what ifs" of the last 6 days in DU's GDP, I decided to ask what would be more controversial.

No motive. No goal. Just a thought in my tired brain.

5. I can see where I'll be camped out tonight if I see trashing of Jesse Jackson.
This may be my last damn night on DU. Too far is too far and trashing Jesse Jackson will be too far. Counting down...3...2...
