Of those who manage to get elected president he has a very low hurdle and will likely exceed past presidents as well as a McCain Palin ticket.

Despite his stance for civil unions instead of gay marriage, he does have a record of sponsoring a gay rights bill in Illinois and has always been for advancing equality. If we get to the point in the next 4-8 years when gay marriage can become the law of the land I don't think Obama will be the one standing in the way of it.
