Joe Biden feels sorry for President Bush
I know we should try to limit our new President and Vice President, but I now almost want to throw a shoe at Joe.

WASHINGTON - Joe Biden offered lumps of coal and sharp criticism for Vice President Dick Cheney, but he feels almost sorry for his predecessor's boss - especially after President Bush had to duck hurled shoes in Iraq.

"It's presumptuous to feel sorry for another man. But I feel somewhat - I feel somewhat badly for him," Biden told Larry King in an interview to air Monday on CNN.

"I think the incident in Iraq was - was unfortunate, that guy throwing the shoes," Biden says. "It was just - it was just uncalled for and was - I think that President Bush and, unlike Vice President Cheney, is, upon reflection beginning to acknowledge some of the serious, if not mistakes, misjudgments that he made."

:wtf: Killing thousands of innocent people without provocation is not worth a shoe being thrown at you? Saying "oops" should entitle him to forgiveness? I hope he is not trying to convince the reality-based community of this. Maybe he wants to placate the Bush dead-enders.

Anyway, I am STILL riding high on Obama and Biden's win, but come on now. Really.

1. As much as I love Joe, you must remember that he voted to authorize the use of force,
so he needs to take some of that blame and he can't push too far. I disagree that Dumbya is starting to admit mistakes; he has done nothing of the sort. He and Cheney should be held accountable for their war crimes. And take Rummy, Wolfie, Condi and all the others with them.

2. Heh. "unlike Vice President Cheney"
That was the real comment, I think.

By the way, It is wrong to physically attack the President of the United States, even if it is Bush.

3. And it is wrong to physically attack a country that has done
nothing to us. Seems that Bush got off easy. Plus he stole both elections, so I do not respect him to that degree anyway.

6. well you know the old saying
two wrongs don't make a right.

Bush may be one of the worst Presidents in history, but I don't approve of anyone trying to physically harm him.

I admit I did laugh at the shoe video, though. :)

8. And as DIFFICULT as it is for me,
I do not advocate anyone physically harming him either! However, you reap what you sow. Okay, your serve (to give a worn out expression) :P

10. Yeah. The war was way worse than the shoe
Totally agree on both points. I don't really respect Bush as a person, but I respect the office of the leader of our country.

I hated Bush before the war. And Bush is getting off easy if he doesn't go to prison for the rest of his life. That won't happen though.

4. Yeah.. I think that's where Biden was coming from.
"By the way, It is wrong to physically attack the President of the United States, even if it is Bush."

I think Biden sees George as an idiot and feels sorry for him because he's just too damned stupid to understand what and how he fucked up... too stupid to understand the full meaning of the shoe being thrown at him.

in Biden's message.

9. I agree. I think George is a joke to Biden and has failed at so much...
I suppose you get to a point where you have to feel sorry for him. I'm not there, yet. But George has screwed things up so much, anything Obama/Biden do to correct it will really show up.

To me, the saddest thing about George is that he doesn't get it. I think he still thinks he did a good job. Maybe Karen Hughes should finally tell him he was a failure AGAIN.

A jab from Joe! :toast:

Also, the feeling bad comment could almost be like a reverse compliment, like oh hey buddy, you're a real fuckup, but at least you acknowledge it!

12. I feel sorry for him
like I feel sorry for any other war criminal.

This is the kind of thing that makes me crazy. Would Joe feel bad if someone lobbed a shoe at someone who had been responsible for the death of just 1 child?

How about hundreds of thousands?

14. I feel sorry for bush too
Cheney No way! But Bush was never the man running things, he was the simple minded "average joe" figure head and now he will go down as the worst president. So yeah i feel bad for him in that sense. Despite his social conservatism, I always read people say that they liked him as a man, a fun guy to hang around with, just not presidential is all. So I'm with Biden. I really bad for bush and agree that Bush is trying to make attempts to show remorse for some of his actions. Cheney isn't and there is a special place in hell waiting for him.

15. I think Joe is acknowledging
who the real "decider" was in this administration. Perhaps he views those regrets as Bush really saying, "I should have lived up to my responsibilities as president instead of passing off responsibility to Cheney".
