Caroline Kennedy Favorability at 46%, unfavorable 17% (Quinnipiac)
Quinnipiac University has performed a poll measuring Caroline Kennedy's favorability rating.
Favorable: 46%
Unfavorable: 17% (PUMAs including Geraldine Ferraro)
Undecided: 36%

I think that Gov. Paterson has already decided and is waiting for Senator Clinton to resign her seat. Paterson is saying nothing except pointing out that it will be up to the people to decide on 2010 if his choice stays as Senator (sounds like it is going to be Caroline because if it was Andrew Cuomo he would not make that statement because Cuomo has already shown elective power by being elected to state offices in the past)

1. I support CK but understand that there are legitimate reasons to oppose her.
Lay off the "PUMA" shit.

3. Maybe this is a generational thing
As a Gen Xer, I don't get my panties all wet over the Kennedy family, as the Boomers and the elders do.

5. Whoa. I saw a poll here yesterday making it look like it was 47% against.
WTF. If I misread it I get the feeling I was supposed to. Damn the haters are really shitting their pants and I don't mean anyone here.

7. Favorable for what? The OP has no link.
If it's favorable opinion in general, Caroline is ok. But as Senator, she's not qualified. There are loads of more highly qualified senatorial candidates in NY. Paterson will appoint her for one reason: money.

In 2010 he will be running for governor, Caroline would be running for senator, and Schumer will be running for senator. Kennedy can draw money, which helps Paterson (and Schumer.) Politics sucks in so many ways - Paterson will name the least qualified person because her name will draw money to his candidacy/party in NY in 2010.
