...I never had to ask, and people like you didn't have to tell. I already knew. I have amazing "gaydar". Some of the best people I've worked with in my nearly 17 years were of the "don't ask don't tell variety". I hope, before I retire, I'm able to serve with gay shipmates openly.

19. the stories i could tell, deployments on an aircraft carrier were

24. i had fun. my first ship out of bootcamp was USS Coral Sea.

My favorite tour was being LPO for S-1 division (I was an SK) on the battleship Missouri during Desert Storm. I liked being stationed in Long Beach, CA, so close to LA. Cher even did a music video on my ship!!1 :crazy:;

actually, I went to BE&E School in 1979 as a M, switched to A, worked a couple of tours in Okinawa and the Pentagon and switched to T in 1984. I became an R by default when they started combining specialties. After all that, I should have been an I...LOL!
