Should Blago's 22 post-arrest pardons be overturned?

The allegations are about the appointer, not the appointee, although anyone who'd accept an appointment under these circumstances is probably ethically challenged. But let's continue. So it would have been totally fine to expel Blago's pick had it been a white man? You've been duped by Blago's ridiculous race-baiting ploy.

And yes, I do think 67 senators would vote to expel anyone blago appointed. We can count on the 41 or so GOP votes for expulsion, which then requires less than half of the Dem caucus, the majority of whom would most likely vote to expel.

concerns. Blago is signing new bills every day.

On December 12, he signed Senate Bill 934 into law, providing insurance coverage to parents of children with autism.

Do the affected parents and kids also have a cloud over their heads?

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't think there's any safeguards in the constitution or anywhere to prevent a corrupt politician from pardoning people for bad reasons.

The only safe guard on pardons I know of is that you can't pardon yourself.

And while I agree it doesn't seem right that Blago can still pardon people, Blago hasn't even been indicted of anything yet. He's only widely believed by almost everyone to be totally corrupt.

Not unless they have evidence of wrongdoing with regard to specific pardons. I hate "blanket" approaches to things. Each case should be reviewed and decided separately, if the law allows. Some of those people may deserve a pardon and they shouldn't be punished because Blago might be a crook.

But I don't think pardons can be undone.

It's the Senate Democrats who say any Blago appointment won't be allowed to caucus with them, not the Illinois Democrats (whether or not they'll follow through on the threat is another question)
