1. No they are not. I don't think strollers are either.

It's pretty standard security practice on the White House grounds, etc.

They're pretty strict about what you can bring. I'm too lazy to Google the specifics but I know strollers are prohibited and I think the same for backpacks. I'd doubt it highly. Besides what can you see when everyone else is standing up?

12. What people have to realize

is that there are going to be more people trying to converge on an area than
have ever tried to fit into that area before. This is an historic event and
people want to be there. I live here and Metro to work every day and I can't
even imagine how all of y'all are going to get down there. The metro system
is going to be bulging with people and if everyone tried to cram their chairs,
coolers,strollers and various other stuff...

I live here and I'm not even going to try it and if I had small children, no way.
I'd bring children that can walk and hold my hand. Security is tight for a reason.
The logistics for this event are unprecedented. Having said all that, I hope everyone
has a safe and wonderful event. Oh and one more thing, bring cash because there isn't
going to be enough ATMs and street venders do not take plastic.

is a good idea. I just added it to my inauguration info page. Times Square gets a million people, and this will be 2-3 times that. I don't know how they're going to get this done.
