4. Emil Jones is deeply hated 'round these parts.
I doubt the other two Chicago guys could win downstate, either. But Jones wouldn't stand a chance.

Reid doesn't know who could win in Illinois. Besides, it's not up to him, it's up to the voters. Illinois is a DEM state.

13. Just curious...besides MyCritters2, of those who have replied, who are from IL?
The bad thing for Burris is Blago has appointed him, and one of other posters who pointed out these four probably couldn't win re-election is probably on the money.

This is not a race issue, though many not from Illinois are apparently trying to turn it into one.

This whole experience has been a huge eye opener when it comes to the lack of understanding when it comes to state politics. To further illustrate, almost any one from Illinois who follows politics was never worried about Obama getting caught up in Blago's problems - we all knew of the lack of relationship between these two.
