What about Barney Frank for Commerce?
Seriously, given his work in Congress he is more than qualified.

What does he give up by leaving Congress. Would that be a good move.

Pros? Cons?

2. No
Frank is part of the problem, not the solution.

4. Absolutely Not
He has mismanaged the Financial Crisis and hasn't stood up to Bush. No leadership.

5. Someone else hopefully.
Pros: he gives a great quote

Cons: he appears to be a technophobe plus he was asleep at the switch while the financial crisis was brewing. Obviously he is not to blame for the crisis (conservative polices are) but he could have done a better job.

6. one I think we have one (Richardson)
Edited on Sun Jan-04-09 02:12 PM by dsc
and two I think he should have been given treasury. That is what he was qualified for. On edit I see that one is no longer operative. I still think Frank is over qualified for a Democratic Commerce Secretary. There are plenty of sucessful gay business people if he wishes to use this slot to rectify his not naming a gay to his cabinet.

9. I admitedly have not been paying close enough attention. . .
. . .I knew he was in Congressional leadership on the issue but I was naive as to how much folks blamed him.
