Bummer! I don't think he's racist for not wanting Blago to appoint three potential senators who happened to be black because of electability concerns, but I do think it looks bad and I also think he's been ineffective as majority leader anyway. I'd rather see Chris Dodd or Dick Durbin as majority leader.

The majority leader cannot chair a committee. The majority leader spends most of the time in the Senate coordinating floor activities. No Senator would give up a chair for what amounts to an adminstrative position.

Also, since Reid was unopposed, it appears they wanted to keep him.

He's not a strong leader and gives in to the repukes more often than not. He sucks. I can't stomach him. :puke:
