Jacob Begich shouts out to Obama

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Mark Begich may be Alaska's newest United States senator, but it was his son who got the attention of President-elect Barack Obama.

At a chance meeting Monday, the Begich family was at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., when Obama walked past.

Begich was holding his son when 6-year-old Jacob Begich shouted out to Obama.

The president-elect walked across the wide corridor toward Jacob and asked him, "What's going on, man?"

Mark Begich tells Anchorage television station KTUU that his very excited son shook hands with Obama, and replied, "Nothing."

Mark Begich says Jacob then kept saying, over and over again, "I met the president! I met Obama!"

The elder Begich, a Democrat, will be sworn into office Tuesday after defeating Republican Ted Stevens in the general election

The president-elect also may have picked up one new enthusiastic supporter as he walked to his afternoon meeting with Democratic and Republican leaders. When Obama left Reid's office in the Senate's venerable Ohio clock corridor, a young boy shouted his name. He was Jacob Begich, the son of Alaska's new Democratic Sen. Mark Begich. Obama stopped to have his picture taken with the entire Begich family.

The moment, and the throng that witnessed it, was a reminder that Obama's star power remains very much intact.

But I WILL let you in on a little secret ..... it's like this..... when the LAST good President this nation had was run out of town on a rail because of his sexual inpropriety .... and the INCOMING President is your "type" both physically, intellecutally and poltically, AND you are the same age (give or take 12 years) it is VERY important that you maintain an air of "I only like the man because of his plans to reform the tax code" or "I'm voting for the man because of his foreign policy." Otherwise, your Freeper friends wont take the candidate seriously and they'll go vote for some random Alaskan whack job and her dirty uncle.

So what do you do? You treat the top of the ticket like a monk and you project ALL of your physical attraction for BOTH men onto the older, more harmless, yet still sexy in an old guy way, VP.

Hopefully my "Hot Chicks Dig Obama" bumper sticker wont blow my cover. ;)
