Franken should challenge Reid for Majority Leader...

Even if he loses, he lets them know that he is not into playing their little partisan games. He should be a real maverick in the Senate. I'm sure his timely humor will be a devastating weapon to whomever he chooses to debate.

Ok, if Reid and Durbin don't wish to seat him with the incoming Senators. No problem. Between Reid and Feinstein, it difficult to say which is the bigger whiner?

I would love to see Franken be a thorn in the side to all these spineless buttheads. These are the same folks that sat silently by as Bush was chopping our Constitution to shreds. Who are they to criticize Al Franken.... or Leon Panetta, for that matter?

He could easily be forced out for cause, regardless of his current standing. Majority leaders come and go all the time based on political timetables and not scheduled votes.

Serious. Al Franken is a hugely talented man. "Gadflys" are very useful in conservative bodies like the senate but I think Franken has the potential to be MUCH more than that. He could be America's next progressive leader...but only if we treat him seriously.

Don't know how they are going to settle that. I'm not from Burris's home state, so I would be interested to know what people from that state think should be done. I'm not thrilled with Reid either, and I wonder if he'll be replaced. I can't wait for Franken to take his rightful place in the Senate. I doubt Franken will come in and try to replace anyone, because he lacks the senority. But, I have a feeling he will make his voice heard loud and clear. Congrats to Senator Franken!

Reaid has no credibility- he's afraid of his own shadow. Democratic Senators know they can do whatever they like without significant consequences.
