Republicans frightened Reid again. They planned to disrupt opening of new Congress.
"Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid yielded to Republican threats and agreed on Monday not to immediately seat fellow Democrat Al Franken, whose razor-close victory in Minnesota faces legal challenges.
Senate Republicans had planned to disrupt the opening of the new Congress on Tuesday by blocking Franken's swearing-in."

2. Reid should see that Franken will ultimately be certified and has
blown a chance to allow the Repugs to disgrace themselves.

4. I watched "Recount" last night. Reid behaves just like Warren Christopher in the movie.
He brings a pack of cards to a knife fight. Perhaps he is trying to always be classy, gentlemanly, play by the rules - BUT THE OTHER SIDE DOESN'T. He obviously can't learn this, so should no longer have the position that he does. We will continue to have our lunch stolen, no matter who is president, no matter what our majority.

5. After 8 f*cking years of Bushie boy, who would have had to find
something else to f*ck up besides the US, Iraq, the economy, the environment...if only Al Gore
had been allowed to count all the votes in FL...you'd think the Dem leadership would get it.

Jeebus, but we need a Majority leader with spine.

7. You have to wonder if these guys threaten Dems with watching what planes they ride.
I wouldn't put it past them. They are such a$$holes. I hope there is a hell, so they can all get what they deserve.

13. If that were true it would be a great excuse.
But the truth is they quiver before Republicans.

9. Reid needs to be Lamonted.
Is there anyone who can run against him? I'd gladly donate to someone who will take him on in the primary next year.

14. Reid caves again. And in related neews, fire is hot.
Why can't we have a majority leader with a spine? Is that too much to ask?

15. One commentator previously said that the Democratic leadership did not want
Franken to win b/c they would have other such Hollywood types running. They only seem to want people who will play ball and do whatever the leadership wants.

16. Is the election 100% over?
Has a certificate been sent to the senate? If not, then he shouldn't be sworn in.
