A lot of DUers are under the impression that once Obama takes office, he is going to reverse the Bush administration's policy when it comes to Israel/Palestine conflict or that he will somehow stop the bloodshed.

As the leader of Democratic party Obama traveled to Israel and did make statements there. In fact his comments there are being used today by Ehud Barak to justify the Israeli actions in Gaza.

Barak also cited a comment made by U.S. President-elect Barack Obama, who visited Sderot during his election campaign earlier this year.

"Obama said that if rockets were being fired at his home while his two daughters were sleeping, he would do everything he could to prevent it ," Barack told the plenum.

Furthermore, then Democratic nominee Obama gave a speech to AIPAC outlining his policies. You can read the transcript of this speech or listen to it in the following link.

Obama is currently being viewed as an agent of change and hope in the Middle East. I don't believe he would want to change that image by issuing a statement that would not be too critical of Israel.

1. There are more rockets being fired now than before Israel escalated it.
The idea that this is all about stopping rocket attacks is really the most transparent of propaganda.

2. Thats not true.
Hamas was firing at least 100 rockets a day before the Israeli air raids. That number has decreased since then.
