Poll question: Which Republican ideas are worthy of bipartisan support?
Obama's economic recovery plan includes tax breaks for businesses, but I thought the election was a repudiation of GOP ideas. It's funny that when Bush won by a razor thin majority--or more accurately lost by enough to steal it--he claimed a mandate for an undiluted far right agenda. The only concessions he made was to put expiration dates on tax cuts, fully knowing that anyone who didn't vote to renew them could be accused of raising taxes.

Oddly, when Bill Clinton won more decisive victories than Bush, and Obama won even more decisive victories than Clinton, they both rushed to embrace the far right. In Clinton's case, their thanks was to pass the right wing agenda when Clinton pretended to propose it, and simultaneously, call Clinton far left and try to impeach him for his personal behavior.

So what is the upside of including these grossly failed republican ideas in Obama's economic recovery proposal? Is it just a bribe to keep the business community from pulling out the big PR guns to kill the overall package?

Or is it a failed belief that these GOP ideas actually work?

Which GOP ideas are worthy of bipartisan support?

5. Most of them already have bipartisan support
the suddenly robustly spined Democrats in Congress sat hand in hand with Bush and voted for them too. Glad we have a relative newcomer here to clean house.

6. And now we get to the real heart of the matter.
Obama says he wants to be "post partisan". He wants to "reach across the aisle" and claims that "not all good ideas come from Democrats".

Well that sounds reasonable on the surface. When it comes to the average American citizen you could probably find common ground and good ideas with many who have voted for Repuke candidates in the past.

But as for Republicans who have actually HELD office in the last 30 years, what GOOD ideas have they had?

Richard Nixon created the EPA and started Earth Day. Otherwise, he was pretty much a fucking bastard who owed his entire career to the Bush Crime Family, but I'll give him credit for those things. But I can't think of any good ideas that have come from a Repuke administration since then. Or Repukes in Congress. And most definitely NOT the traitors in PNAC.

So why reach out to those who have proven themselves incapable of any good ideas for nearly 40 years?

7. Other; the one at the very end.
When they all decided that campaigning with Plutonium was a better idea than being associated with Bush.
