That's the official designation. Although when I worked as a letter carrier I didn't mind mail man either. It's what people were used to.

gift in the mail the other day. Like millions of Americans I got an announcement of the Inauguration of Obama and Biden with the Inauguration Seal on recycled paper:)..requesting my presence but alas I cannot go.
