Poll question: When will Barack send Hillary on her first SOS mission?
I'm thinking she'll be on a plane to the Middle East the 20th or 21st. Just curious what your opinion is.

1. She'll broker a ceasefire Jan 20th between Warren and the gay community
Sorry. Couldn't help it.

3. As soon as she's confirmed
If she's not confirmed by the 20th, then he can't send her anywhere.

I would, however, expect her and Big Dawg to be far away from Washington when Obama is inaugurated.

9. That isn't why I asked "Why?", inside, the poster wrote that they thought
Bill and Hillary should be far away from D.C. on Inauguration Day.

That is why, I asked, "why?"

16. Can they have the confirmation votes before Obama is inagerated?
I know they will have teh hearings - and they might even be able to have the committee votes, but I think the confirmation in teh Seanet can't happen until Obama is President.

I think it will be longer before she goes anywhere. There will be a lot of preliminary work setting up the state department and Obama has already spoken of three special envoys that he has named - for Iraq, Israel/Palestine and India/Pakistan. I assume that these envoys will do the prelimary work in those countries, while HRC works on the budget and helps chose ambassadors.

I would imagine that HRC will be at the inauguration - it would be strange if she wasn't. She is a current Senator and she will be part of his administration. (In 2005, Kerry went and when asked said it was important for the process to do so.)

I sort if like them, they have grown on me. Hillz should be ready to go ASAP after the inauguration, there are a lot of problems out there. At least she won't be distracted by wanting to play piano.

11. Doesn't she actually have to have the job first? That doesn't come automatically on 1/20/09.
She has to be confirmed first.
