I read somewhere that Obama reads his bad press more than his good press. So that he can see if there are areas that he needs to improve.

That is a sign of a truly wise man.

Maybe Obama read some bad press about picking Warren, realized that he did exclude without meaning to and found a way to rectify that with the inclusion of Robinson.

I am so sick of Bush's fantasy land and having no clue or even caring how the public feels. Stay the course no matter how bad we fuck up!!!

I give it up to the guy for listening to the people who elected him.

2. Yeah, but hopefully he ignores most of it
since it's going to be coming from the right.

3. Wait -- how does the inclusion of Robinson obviate the fact
that Warren, an anti-woman, anti-civil rights, anti-intellectual @sshole whose sole claim to moderation is that he followed his wife to Africa to advocate against condoms will be on a national stage?

What?!

7. I hardly think the OP was saying that it evened things out.
Or made the Warren pick better. But it could still show that they might have realised that a message was missing.
It could all be shallow calculation, but I can't see the point of that. Or them thinking that it would have one.

8. When I screwed up with my teenagers, I had three choices.
I could deny it and bluster, or I could compensate by giving them something or I could own up and make it right. All of those were "responses" and they all worked sometimes. Only one of them, though, made our family better over time.

This seems like compensation to me but, that's just my opinion.

9. Yes
Do you think the Obama team is working the middle option thinking it will work?
They are probably smart enough to realise that such an empty gesture alone will not help down the road.

Could it not be their way of owning up?

5. Listens & THINKS TOO! Then there's that ability to actually speak
English! I stopped listening to Shrub's speeches several years ago because I just couldn't stand to hear our language fractured so badly!

6. Well, there is little evidence of the listening yet. I hope there will be soon.
I want FOCA NOW as "promised" by Obama and he can repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell for starters.
