2. It won't be soon enough, the voters should have retired them along with
...fifteen other Republican Senators last November

3. I love what was said on Hardball tonight...
a puke strategist said it was no longer fun now that their power and free junkets had disappeared. He was dead serious.

4. There is no reason why we can't pick up two or three of those seats.
And I won't be upset to see any of those five go. :)

Since Kathleen Sebelius is term-limited and her Governorship is over in two years, I wonder if she has her eye on Brownback's seat. If so, she could be a serious contender. Has anyone heard any speculation on this?

11. Wow, very cool!
I'm sure Jean would be very proud to see her daughter in the Senate.

Can you imagine it? Two female Senators representing Missouri, and both of them Democrats? That would be AWESOME! :)

12. All five are winnable.
If Obama delivers we'll have no problem getting 60.

5. Hutchinson too - wow
If they keep this up - there will be First or second term Senators and ranking members of committees - whre it now can take Democrats more than 3 terms.

14. Hutchison hasn't retired yet, it's only speculated she'll run for governor

But yes she's likely to cause another seat to be up for grabs in 2010.

As a PAer I wouldn't be so surprised if Specter retires. The guy's battling cancer, and it seems very likely that Toomey will challenge him in a primary again (which Specter only just barely won last time), which makes his reelection prospects look a whole lot harder, and might be enough to cause him to just call it quits rather then go through all that trouble trying to win reelection.
