Obama will Investigate....and pardon
I can smell an Iran-Contra level controversy brewing up around the issue of torture. And this Bush interview will be used later...you can bet on it! Obama will be forced to have a special prosecution and he will pardon many high level people guilty of torture.

1. No pardons.
Obama will let the investigations play out, and will not be issuing any pardons.

2. Don't count on it...
You think the elites would let Bush go to prison!!! Wake up please. You think Poppa Bush would let his son rot in a cell? LOL

15. Obama will issue no pardons for this
$10 says he pardons no one. I'll mail you a check if I'm wrong.

16. blah, blah, blah "the elites". you sound just like bush
and two things: Poppy ain't going to live forever, and whether there's sufficient hard evidence to convict bush, is undetermined.

18. It's a FACT that the powerful protect each other...you haven't learned that by now?
Why do you think there's no one currently serving time for Watergate? Iran-Contra? Etc?

3. We'll see.
I am not holding my breath that justice will be served in the next couple of years, but I think Obama is going to 'defer' to Holder on the crimes of the current WH occupants. I also think that is Holder goes for it and formalizes the crimes and charges, that Obama will not stand in the way. The issue will be whether or not the prosecution will limit Obama as President. He wants to be a great President. If prosecuting chimpy and company prevents that, then Obama will not go along.

5. People WILL create trouble for him if he goes along with it which is why I doubt he does
His big thing is working across the isle. I don't see the GOP going quietly about this. Who knows what Holder would do? Likely say the same thing Obama is..."we have to look forward, not backward."

6. My gut instinct tells me these crimes are going to be harder to sweep under the rug...
...than Iran-Contra/BCCI.

I doubt Obama will issue any pardons. If he did, it would be instant political suicide.

9. He's not going to pardon but I can't promise you he's going to look too hard
either and why does anyone EXPECT him to go hammer and tongs on BushCo.? You might want to look back at the past couple hundred years and adjust appropriately.

10. I don't see pardons.
Unfortunately, I do see the Bush crimes swept under the rug quietly. Obama won't do anything as crass as pardoning Bush, but he probably won't prosecute him either. Maybe if there's a lot of noise made about the Bush crimes, maybe some of Bush's cronies will be.

I can see Karl Rove being prosecuted - that's less politically risky than going after Bush or Cheney - he snubbed Senate subpoenas, so he'll likely at least get subpoenaed again, this time with Holder telling him he will go to jail if he doesn't show again.

13. Obama will just let it play out and go away
Unless Bush does something EXTREMELY Stupid, which is a 50/50 proposition, then it will quietly go away.

17. Return that Sear crystal ball. It's obviously defective. Tin foil hats are in Aisle 3
In case you missed it, the Justice Department will continue investigating the torture details. I know, they are all members of the Trilateral Commission and are charter members of Axis 5000 Zeenork, but you catch my drift.

19. I'm not so sure about that
Obama would be relegating himself to being the New Ford instead of the New Lincoln. There's a car pun there. :hi:
