Twelve year old lurches blearily from bedroom and mumbles, "Hey mom..."
bastard's gone in a week!" and grins. My morning greeting today. Much better than the typical "I'm hungry." or even more standard, simply a growl. I didn't have the heart to charge him the quarter for the swear word.
