Inaugural event in Philadelphia

Ok, my first time starting a thread and I hope I'm doing this right...


I was picked to be a Team Captain for the event in Philly on Saturday! I think there are thirteen of us total and we'll be leading the teams of volunteers and serving as liaisons between event staff and the volunteers on our team. I'm one of two people in charge of inside ushers. The Team Captains had a conference call last night with the Volunteer Coordinator for the inaugural committee and apparently we were selected based on recommendations from current/former campaign staff. In this case, my former Field Organizer picked me and two other volunteers from our team. I thought there were going to be a bunch of people on the call and we were all just regular volunteers until I joined the call and was told otherwise! Then I was just like, "WOW."


Sorry for kind of a pointless post, but I just wanted to share my joy. :3 I just feel so proud and it's just such an honor that I'm being given the chance to participate in some small way in an inaugural event! To think I did a good enough job during the campaign so that I'd get a recommendation... I just feel so...I don't even know!

If anyone else is volunteering on Saturday (and going to the training on Friday), I'll see you there! :bounce:
