Hillary Clinton's favorability ratings skyocket. Personal 10 year-high (New Gallup poll)
Edited on Tue Jan-13-09 03:22 PM by nodramamama
65% of Americans (93% of Democrats, 61% of independents and 35% of Republicans) view Hillary Clinton favorably, according to a just-released Gallup poll (conducted Jan 9-11). This is the first time Clinton rises above the 60% barrier since 1999 (67%).

A majority of Americans believes Clinton will be an above-average or outstanding (56%) Secretary of State. 14% say below average/poor while 29% say "average". Democrats overwhelmingly believe she will be outstanding/above average (79% , versus 3% saying "below average/poor" and 17% answering "average".

1. Good. I hope it rises, so she'll run in 2016.
Maybe she knew this would help her popularity and would be a good launching pad opportunity for 2016!!

And in return, we get a great SoS :P

5. Either Bill, Hill, or someone of her said admitted unlikelihood of running, making mark as SoS.
Whatever happens, she will throw herself into this opportunity with success, I think. Obama, Biden, Kerry and Hill, all working together, and a great opportunity for us.

I agree with MarjorieG, Obama, Biden, HRC, Kerry, S. Rice, and the rest of the national security team are working good together. :)

9. And yet I heard Dana Bash on CNN this morning calling her "polarizing." It's the media's favorite
word to describe Hillary. It's kind of tiresome, plus not exactly accurate. I've also noticed that whenever there's a poll showing her as having decent favorability numbers, the media doesn't bother making a big deal out of it, obviously because it contradicts their framing. Oh, and let me know when they start to refer to Sarah Palin as polarizing.

12. Bingo on the SP analogy.... all we hear about that one is how Reaganesque she is ...
while I think Hill's going for the White House in 2016 are very slim (and frankly too far off to think about), wouldn't it be the best ever to see Hillary mop the floor with Sarah Palin in a debate -- or three! Hill-arious!
