I apologize for the small font, but I think you get the picture. If the graph were to be updated to show Bush's current $99m cash on hand, his margin would be even bigger. Scary, is it not?

One thing Dean's campaign has right for sure - there are 2,000,000 people with $100 who don't want another Bush term.

You'll find they aren't that far apart.

As long as the nominee has a clue how to raise money, they should be alright. They should have about half the money Bush will for the fall campaign.

it is specific to the primaries only.
After the conventions, Bush and our candidate will both be using public funds.

By the time our candidate is decided, Bush will have run almost $200 million in ads against whatever small slice our guy has raised.
And most of the money raised by our candidates will be spent very early. We won't have much cash to spend all through the spring and summer months, which is when Bush will unleashed his warchest.

Yes, it is pretty grim, indeed.
The best thing we can hope for is as many candidates as possible drop out as soon as possible and rally around Clark.
As long as you Dean people cling to this unrealistic fantasy that Dean will be the winner, the longer Dean saps much needed funds away from Clark.

I'm not sure if each party gets GE funds right after their convention, or if they have to wait until both are over, or if there is some fixed date.

But either way we're in for a long, bumpy ride with not a lot of gas...
