Women can now save themselves from the embarrassment of seeing other women donning the same outfit, thanks to one-of its-kind internet site that lets partygoers to “register” their dresses before the event.

Dressregistry.com allows revellers to describe details of their garb, including the colour, length, designer, neckline description, to others to avoid dress duplication trouble.

Users can also put up a photograph online, reports the Telegraph.

Around 100 gowns were said to have been registered by inaugural revellers “for more than two dozen official and unofficial events, including the Constitution Ball, the American Indian Inaugural Ball and the Green Inaugural Ball hosted by Al Gore”.

It was further revealed that the number kept soaring as the inaugural festivities drew near with mastermind Andrew Jones recording around “300,000 hits and more than 10,000 unique visitors since the Web site launched December 1.”

“With the inauguration, it just all came together in my mind. I thought it would be a great time to roll it out,” the Telegraph quoted Jones as saying.

“I’ve had people self-registering their events every day. As the site gets more populated, we may be able to infer by what’s being worn for each particular event, what people are leaning to,” he added.
