He said that in his last cabinet meeting photo op. When the camera panned the table to show everyone sitting there I never saw so many people looking depressed in my life. Anyone who thinks they look happy aren't paying attention. Bush looks tired and disheartened although he's really rallying around himself to go out with some semblance of bravado. I've been calling it his last Hail Mary Pass before he exits. He has nothing to lose anymore so he might as well go out fighting for himself.

Just the things he's saying and the way he's saying them shows he's on the defensive about everything. Anyone will tell you that being on the defensive is not the exit of a man who is a winner or popular or respected. This whole last act has been played on the defensive.
