This guy has been a pilot for 40 years but apparently had daughters stil in school
according to CNN reporter interview with his wife.

The guy has to be in his 60's if he was an F4 pilot in 1973.

???

Some people wait, meet the right person, take their time, and plan. Others get remarried. Just a thought.

25. most of the pilots I know first became pilots at 15-18. Add 40 years, 55-58.
You are shocked at the reaction you've gotten? That persons 55-58 with "children in school" is so G-D unusual?

Really?

Happens quite a lot, typically one or both of the parents match your moniker. In my case it was admitted by my father in response to my saying it wasn't my fault he had eight kids.

23. My dad was 50 the year I was born.
His experiences were very valuable to me and gave me a unique perspective not as readily accessible to most of my peers.

Should I have been terminated or my father forbidden to reproduce because of his age? Tres stupid.

from college.

Maybe the pilot and his wife didn't have kids until around age 39. Or they could have multiple kids, the last of whom was born when they were that age.

35. My husband is 52yo (I'm 46yo). Our younger child is 6yo, so he'll be 11 when dh is 57.
Why is this so amazing? Not everyone finishes having kids by the time they're 30yo. Indeed, some of us don't even START until after that, lol. Dh was 40yo when our dd was born. (First marriage and kids for both of us, btw, as another possible scenario is second family. My boss is ~63 and has a second wife 47yo and two daughters in that family, a 12yo and a 10yo.)

45. Pretty funny, eh gramps?
According to the San Fran Chronicle, the pilot's wife rushed to remove her two kids from school, one in middle school. In the town where the pilot lives I'm sure there are lots of parents of school age kids who are in that age range. I shop in that town and I've seen plenty.
