If this is a glimpse of the sort of opposition they'll be putting forth in the coming years we are gonna have to start calling Obama President Steamroll. answered their questions straight, no squirming or hedging. Specter went at him with the Mark Rich pardon but Holder took it all on the chin and didn't flinch. Obviously the Rich pardon was a mistake, and Holder said so. It'll be an easy confirmation.

Holder did well. And of course, Politico has a headline that says "Specter draws blood from Holder", w/ "Holder gets testy under questioning from Specter". Uh, whatever, Politico.

3. It was an excercise in nothing much. Hatch already publicly

stated he would be supporting Holder and that's a big deal coming from a senior member of the Committee, and someone who is usually a big dick. There was never any question that Holder will be confirmed.

And so will Geithner.
