9. He's only about seven years too late with this
He couldn't get enough of Commander Cookoobananas during the runup to the Iraq war. There is no special talent involved in being a mirror for popular opinion.

12. That is not completely accurate. He is seven years ahead of most media types actually.

Hail and farewell

Chris Matthews

...

So I'll say it: I hate this war that's coming in Iraq. I don't think we'll be proud of it. Oppose this war because it will create a millennium of hatred and the suicidal terrorism that comes with it. You talk about Bush trying to avenge his father. What about the tens of millions of Arab sons who will want to finish a fight we start next spring in Baghdad?

Well, that's it for now. You know where I stand.

That's from his final newspaper column in 2002.

15. I liked what he said, but thought he was too kind to
the Neo-Cons for referring to them as intellectuals. But I guess it was kinder than saying Bush* got bamboozled by power & money hungry criminals.

There was a reason why Cheney chose himself as Bush's* running mate, as well as a very strong reason why they had to lie, cheat and steal their way to Coup 2000, and again in 2004.

When I let myself think about it, I sometimes wonder what kind of POTUS Bush* might have been if he had allowed himself to be influenced by decent people these past years. I believe it is precisely that thought and fear that made Cheney choose himself as the VP candidate.

I hate those bastards.
