Bush History:Bush Admin Working Hard,Going All Out ... to Promote the Interests of Enron-1/16
A letter draws attention to the fact that the Bush admin. has been working hard, going all out, pulling all the stops to promote the interests of the likes of Enron (2002). This was, of course, prior to all the criminal charges against the now defunct company, but after 'Kenny Boy' and other Enron interests had oh-so-generously lined the Bush campaign's pockets. Also, a bloody day in Iraq (2007).

More details, from the 2009 Bush Blunder Calendar ...

1. And we have all seen the results.
To believe this had no effect on the surge in oil prices is laughable. Someone should be locked up over this.

2. Then there are the employees
Then there are the employees and the investors who lost so much at the hands of these criminals, while Ken Lay makes a quick exit via way of a coffin. There are people who lost everything because of their lies, with the aid of Enron's enablers in the Bush White House.

3. While Phil Gramm's wife sat on the board
of Enron. American blue collar criminals should forever feel justified because of the way the Bush Justice Department perverted justice. I guess many feel that way now. Why should anyone spend a day in prison for drug dealing, armed robbery or any number of crimes? The Bushites have turned justice on its ear.

5. Then Bush protected the banks that helped Enron steal
There is a lot of documentation pointing to financial institutions helping Enron cook the books to show fake financial results. People who lost their retirement sued. The Bush admin spoke up to protect the bankers. The bankers won. The retirees lost.

Bush is all for being tough on the criminals who aided and abbetted in a bank robbery (for example throwing the book at those who drive the get away car), but he has no such tough-on-crime feelings towards his well-off friends who aided and abbetted Enron stealing from the middle class.

Shameful hypocrisy. Robbery is OK in America, but only if you are wealthy and well connected.

6. Exactly. And this is why
something must be done. I understand Obama has too many pressing issues on his plate, but geesh, this need to get done.

7. agreed. My hope is...
agreed. My hope is that with obama in office we will see an administration more attuned to the little guy, instead of jumping to support the big guys. Now, with even the big guys in danger of going under, perhaps the mathematics changes a bit. Still, fair is fair. I hope and pray and we have every reason to believe that Obama is for being fair to all of us.

4. My wife believes they faked
Ken Lay's death. She will hear no arguments to the contrary. He did look the picture of health. Probably waiting in South America for his fellow conspirators. I was thinking, what if someone dug him up, to see. :puke:
