Sugar and fried dough - same as dunkin donuts, if you get 'em both hot.

24. That's exactly what I meant in my post below...
I find the donuts I get from Dunkin are cakey and generally not NEARLY as coated in gross sugary glaze. If you get a whole wheat donut (which I love, by the way) you could almost fool yourself into thinking you're eating healthily. ;)

Also, at least to me, Dunkin's crullers are VASTLY superior to KK's... I find Dunkin's to be big, light, moist and flaky as opposed to KK's much smaller, more compact, more glazed, not very airy or flaky at all cruller. Of course it's been years and I think Dunkin may have gotten rid of their cruller because it was made by hand and they wanted to switch to a more mechanized system, but I could be wrong.

Yes, donuts are serious business!

33. You have to compare freshly made with each source
Once its been on the shelf, the donuts are different because KK sells 'em to you right off the conveyor belt, but even then, I don't taste much of a difference. I think it's all in your head! :P

17. As a DD connoisseur...
One who has no DD nearby but tons of stupid KK, I must respectfully disagree. :) I LOVE DD because of their cakey, moist donuts, while the KK I've had has been smaller, thickly coated in glaze/sugar and the texture is not nearly as tasty, in my opinion. It seems Texas in general is in love with KK while everyone I know back in New York likes DD. Your mileage may vary, of course.

Still, it's very nice of them to give away free donuts. :D

61. Now see, I just thought that was ironic, because I am told Rachel Ray is a big old Republican.
I had a big laugh when she fell prey to their ridiculous ways.

Someone I know says she is anti-union, a lousy tipper, and just a general a-hole to everyone who works for her.

I know these things don't necessarily make someone a Republican, but they are on pretty good authority that her political views swing that way as well.

I have no proof of this, it is just what I have been told.

Their headline:
"The next time you stare down a conveyor belt of slow-moving, hot, sugary glazed donuts at your local Krispy Kreme you just might be supporting President-elect Barack Obama's radical support for abortion on demand – including his sweeping promise to sign the Freedom of Choice Act as soon as he steps in the Oval Office, Jan. 20."

Their responses:
"Krispy Kreme and Pepsi, read my middle finger. I will never buy your products again. Bank on it. I will not even eat or drink your products if they are free. You socialist bastards."

"I can’t drink Pepsi anymore because the symbol looks like obama’s."

"It is meant to look like Obama’s symbol and there will be no more Pepsi products in my house."

"Where’s my “freedom of choice” as to how I want to spend my earned income?
How about “freedom of choice” to not fund abortions?
How about “freedom of choice” to give to my charity of choice?"

"I can't eat them because of gluten intolerance. I won't buy them for others due to their support of this fraudulent Marxist puke. "

We need a bake sale to take down ‘Big Pastry’.

It seems to me that whether they meant it or not (and how could they not be referring to abortion on demand?) pro-life Americans should contact Krsipy Kreme and announce their intention of boycotting their products. First, of course, it's easy to do (come on, you can live without donuts) and second, what a statement it would be if their sales fell into oblivion. They have handed us an opportunity.

These people are delusional. Sales falling into oblivion? Did they not notice the election results?

66. krispy kreme donuts
are dreck
untouched by a human hand they lack any sense of comfort
i made donuts by hand for a long while
donuts are a bread and like any bread they are a LIVING thing until cooked
kk donuts provides the single worst environment for dough i have ever witnessed
lacking in human attention the product is lifeless and without personality
its nice they are giving their donuts away but frankly they are lucky to be able to do even that with them
give me a glazed raised made by a grouchy bastard with dawn mix any day

Boycotting a place for giving out free donuts and calling it "Freedom of choice"? The choice is a *donut*, you stupid morans!

I took off from work Tuesday to watch the festivities. I may have to go out searching for the nearest Krispy Kreme! :donut:
