Today I saw a "McCain/Palin" bumper sticker with the top half removed...
I ended up at a red light next to driver of the SUV (what the fuck would you expect?). I looked to my left and smiled at him, and gave him the thumbs-up. He rolled down his window and smiled back and said "What's the deal?"

I looked at him and said "Love your altered bumper sticker, man."

His response: ""Shit...Palin should have been at the top of the ticket. We might have won this thing"

I answered back: "Sir, I want you to know that, as a liberal progressive who is celebrating the inauguration of Barack Obama in four days, I want to thank you for your support of Sarah Palin. Please do whatever you can to make sure that she is the 2012 candidate."

And then I waved, rolled up my window, and continued on my way when the light changed back to green.

I was hoping I could be a little helpful.

And 100% of Democrats.

21. You know what's really scary?
Edited on Fri Jan-16-09 11:28 PM by Cyrano
Do your really believe there are not enough votes in America (either counted, stolen and/or "invented") to put this caricature of a person named Sarah Palin in office?

Do you think that's paranoia? Well then, what rational person would have ever believed that George W. Bush, would/could have ever been president? Yeah, I know, the Supreme Court had to appoint him to the job, but nonetheless ...

Okay, so the first time around he was appointed. And the second time around, there are enough questions/suspicions/and documented irregularities about Ohio to make it questionable, if not doubtful, that W. was elected to a second term.

Given those two elections, and the fact that Obama beat McCain/Palin by a mere six points (in perhaps the most incompetent campaign ever run by a Republican in American history) do you really have any confidence in the intelligence of the American people? Conversely, do you have any confidence that our votes are ever counted.

Do you want to know what terrifies me? The thought that four years from now, Sarah Palin might run for president. What do we do if she wins?

We should always expect the best but prepare for the worst. Having Palin as possible prez is NOT an option I am willing to consider. It's like playing Russian Roulette with the country!

30. I believe there are enough GOP votes to, yes...
...but I believe that, past that point, she ceases to exist.

If you think that I'm wrong, then I suggest we both immediately become American expatriates in the country of our choice.

33. This is one of many reasons why I think the GOP is dead
In a normal year, this would be time for them to pick up the pieces and decide how to proceed. But this Palin issue underscores how deep their divide is.

This isn't a policy disagreement. We are looking at two polar opposite groups here. One group of wackos thinks that Palin is the only chance they had. They will never believe otherwise. And they want her to run in 2012. The other groups realizes that she's a brain dead idiot who ruined any slight chance they might have had. And they dont want her around because her presence makes the whole party look stupid.

How can they bridge that gap. And why would either side even try to work with the other? I think the GOP is done.

34. And it is our moral imperative to make the GOP feel...
...like that is the gap they MUST bridge. That SHE is their only hope of survival.

God, I love Sarah Palin.

41. I've seen several printed "Palin '12" stickers.
But I've seen a few more that just say "Sarah!" Like she's trying to imitate "Lamar!" Alexander. As if that worked really well. Come to think of it, I believe these were zooming along I-65 in southern Tennessee last week.

Personally, I fear the soulless bitch.
