Huffpo: Obama Open House Set For Day After Inauguration
Obama Open House Set For Day After Inauguration

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/01/16/obama-arranges-jan-21st-o_n_158605.html

WASHINGTON — Barack Obama plans to open his White House doors to the public on his first full day of his presidency, Jan. 21.

Obama aides on Friday announced plans to have an open house at his new home at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The idea is to keep Obama's administration the "most open and accessible" in history by inviting hundreds of supporters inside and encouraging them to stay involved.

President Bill Clinton had a similar event after his 1993 inauguration, inviting some 2,000 citizens selected by lottery to a receiving line in the Diplomatic Reception Room on Jan. 21.

Tickets this year are limited and interested residents can sign up on Obama's inauguration Web site, PIC2009.org.

2. That house belongs to us
The passengers on United Flight 93 may have very well given their lives to protect it.

It was burned to the ground by the British in 1814.

And it was built by slaves.

That house belongs to the American people, not the president.

4. That is really a great thing to do. I'm glad people will get the
opportunity to go there. I also think it's great that the community will get some attention with the Obama's in the White House. God knows the shrub didn't give a shit.
