Can one man really turn this world around?
Edited on Sat Jan-17-09 11:48 AM by Raven
This question keeps coming to me. Are we asking/expecting too much of Obama? What can each one of us do in our own lives to help? Is it actually going to be possible to reverse the terrible course we've been on?

Then one possible answer comes to me: since it appears to have taken one pea-brain to get us where we are today, I guess there's a good chance a giant of a man can get us out of the mess!

1. His constant theme is that it takes all of us, not just him

3. Of course not...
We are the one's we've been waiting for. With his leadership and all of us doing our part, we can turn this horrible situation around. For the first time I actually want to be involved. That's what he's done for me.

Shrub was a pea brain with a group of criminals around him egging him on. He took the advice of idiots and gathered an idiot following.

We'll make the difference this time. I have never watched every vote being cast for certain issues before. This time I'm looking at everything! It actually feels great to be involved! :)

5. No, because he's open to listening and learning and trying... and he's expecting
for people to come along. He's expecting communities to come together and help one another. The idea of the "ownership society" is over. Its a mixture of personal responsibility and community spirit.. and being the best that we were taught. I said to my mom, you teach us all of our childhood to share, to play fair, and to be thoughtful... When I became an adult and was faced with jobs with other "adults", I'm taught something completely different. Most people know what's right, but are pushed into the doggy eat doggy world because it seems if they do the right thing, they lose, and losing means being without money, food, home, and future. Which sucks.. which is why regulations are in place to make things more fair and more like our moms have taught us.
