I'm Happy
I may have disagreements with President Obama (on same-sex marriage) and not too keen on some of his Centrist picks for the Cabinet and his reaching across the aisle to men who are the polar opposite of the Democratic Party's ideals, but listening to his speech this morning in Philadelphia I find myself comforted, and happy.

I'm happy he will be our President, I'm happy he will be representing all of us, I'm happy his face is the one that gets to be shown to the world, I'm happy that it's his vision that gets to be implemented.

Thank you President Obama, good luck and godspeed!

1. The only people who aren't happy are die-hard Bush fans.
Everyone in the world should be happy when next week rolls around.

2. You know, you kind of took the words out of my mouth.
What I do, when I really start to get upset, when I see decisions that by chance are not going exactly as I would like, I ask myself just one question...

What if we had lost? And then I find myself smiling.

4. If it bugs you that much to point out every detail in a thread suggesting happiness,
are you really that happy?

I am happy. I don't agree with Obama on everything, nor should I. Nor should anybody if free will isn't an illusion.

And he has been keeping his word: He IS reaching out - for unlike certain previous presidents, Obama genuinely sees us all as Americans.

In terms of diplomatic eloquence, he's by far more qualified. Hell, he's simply qualified. Qualified to do what a President is supposed to do. Lead. By example. And bring in people he is convinced to bring in people who can do what he cannot. And to unite. For ALL in America. And unity does not mean pandering to everyone for everything - which is a technical impossibility, if nothing else. Therefore, I can not have any gripes.
