Who here is going to party on Tuesday night?
Our local county Democrats are throwing an Inaugural Ball downtown Missoula at the Elks Club, and everyone is invited including but not limited to Greens, Republicans, Constitutionalists, as well as Independents, and of course Democrats of all wings including but not limited to Wellstonians, Blue Dogs, the democratic wing of the Democratic Party, DLCers, Yellow Dog Democrats, Obama bots and Hillary lovers, as well as New Party Democrats and every other flavor too.

Dedicated non-voters are also welcome!

Two bands will be performing for our dancing and listening pleasure including local bad boys

Bob Wire and the Fence Menders

and

Tom Catmull and his band.

And: a screening of President Obama`s swearing-in and inaugural address.

Local non-profit and advocacy groups are invited to set up a table to spread the word about how your work will continue as President Obama enacts the agenda he promised voters.

Admission is $5 per person but volunteer opportunities abound. Donations of groceries will be accepted on behalf of the Missoula Food Bank.

(semi-formal dress suggested, funky style welcomed)

4. MoveOn is having one of its "Go meet with your congress-critter" actions Tuesday, so maybe
those folks will want to party afterward or join one of the local groups that came out of the Obama campaign.

9. down here we have the Official County Celebration, a real Inaugural Ball at
the Historic Hilton (the last place JFK slept before he was killed) over 900 people have purchased tickets ...cheapest are $75 per person.

A smaller less expensive venue has been set up at the Rahr Brewery (we held 2 debate parties there) complete with commerrative glasses for $10 per person. I will be attending that one, I think, for at least part of the evening.

This one will be quite casual

11. I have to work Tuesday night
Stupid boss knows I'm a rapid political junkie, and she schedules me the night of FUCKING INAUGURATION DAY!

Therefore, no nighttime partying until Wednesday night, which I have off. I will, however, not miss a moment of the inauguration.
