Maps of Obama's Victory in NJ (by city).
Edited on Sat Jan-17-09 06:09 PM by PM7nj
The New Jersey Department of State has FINALLY posted the city-by-city results from November's election. I have begun making maps showing who won where and by how much in each county. I thought some of you may be interested. At the moment they only show the town's colored either blue or red and the percent of the vote the winner took. I am still trying to work out a way to implement the town names and some other things. I have only done two so far, Camden and Gloucester. Both of these counties are in the southern part of the state and are immediate suburbs of Philadelphia.

Camden County: Obama 67%, McCain 32% - Population: ~550,000

Those two little dots of red are actually country clubs that have a few mansions on them. I don't think either has more than 20 residents.

Gloucester County: Obama 55%, McCain 43% - Population ~280,000

3. Here you go!
Click on Pres, Senate, or Congressional and then pick the county. It will download a PDF that has the results for each municipality.

5. My aunt used to call my grandparents the red dots in the blue state
They lived in Newfield, NJ.

I see it's one of the three communities in Gloucester County to vote for McCain. :eyes:

6. McCain only won Newfield by 8 votes.
Out of 887 ballots casts. The spread was actually less than 1%. I've never been to Newfield but I have been to surrounding Franklin Township many times. It is like a whole different world down there. I was actually surprised to see that Obama won it. It has a reputation of being very racist. But so does Gloucester City, which Obama won by 23 points.
