The American people, for the most part, are good and smart people.
As a whole, we know what to do to get it right. We always find a way to turn the ship around to keep it from falling over the cliff. Our parents, our grandparents, our great grandparents, and so forth, built this country through hard work, sacrifice, struggle, and resistance. That's the American experience and it is still alive today, just beneath the gilded veneer that has collected as a result of neoconic Reaganesque policies and Bushesque incompetency and criminality. Look at what we've done with this election. Millions of people got off their duffs and got involved after literally decades of sitting on the sidelines. People in the millions donated five dollars, ten dollars, just to see that Obama had all of the funds he needed to go up against 527s, online smear machines, the M$M, and the GOP. Obama went up against a former prisoner of war and he not only won, but won big and decisively. People, for the most part, were not fooled at all. They looked at their current situations and then at the options and decided that they needed a change. That just shows you that for the most part, Americans are smart folks who know when a mistake has been made and what to do about it to fix it.
