He was very gracious and generous. I thought he was just great and I'm an atheist. The GLBT community would do well to make him the face of the cause. What a class act!

beside the point. The protests here are not on behalf of him personally. It has not been about, "Oh, the poor guy. He may never recover." It is about disrespecting the GLBT community and those who support them

Most of the "protests" here are from posters who have been finding any reason to slam Obama for a long time.

GLBT community and their supporters. "Slam" Obama? Do you mean criticize Obama for something like choosing Rick Warren for the invocation? And?

19. Some of the defenses here are over the top too. Do you have the right to marry? To adopt kids? To

join a church? Do your parents shun you when your orientation becomes apparent? If you have all the basic rights, I guess it's easy for you to think the complaints of those in other shoes are "over the top."

To me, that is a lot more shameful than criticizing Obama for choosing a hater to pray at the most historic Inauguration since Lincoln's, maybe since Washington's. As long as it's not your pain, it's pointless pain, right?

Members of the GLBT community are upset over their own basic rights, things that affect them every minute of every day. You're upset about reading things on a message board criticizing someone who ran for President, knowing he'd be criticized, whom you've probably never met. See the difference?

Pointless to discuss is right.
