C-Span. Wow, the racism elicited by the discussion of MLK
is stunning even for C-Span's WJ which brings the racists and other bigots out in droves.

Happy Martin Luther King Day.

1. In-feariority complex. It is at the root of republicon homelanderism
Edited on Mon Jan-19-09 07:40 AM by SpiralHawk
fear is the Massive Canker on the republicon soul...leads to their racism and greed, and the deranged state of sub-acute paranoid reaction known as Homelanderism.

5. These scared, little people used to feel validated by their President
and now they are where they belong, on the margins.

Makes them behave even worse. I wish them a miserable eight years.

6. Making The Impossible Possible...
Even 4 years ago I didn't think this country was ready or could accept a black (or woman) President...the racism, sexism and stereotypes were too deep and partisan divide too great for a majority of Americans to look past a person's race and actually, honestly elected an African-American based on the person's merits. Well, I was pleasantly surprised...and not surprised by the reaction from the wingnuts.

Remember, it's hatred...especially racism that brought the "big tent" repugnicans together. After the total debunking of the "conservative" mantra of fiscal responsibility and family values, all they have left is hatred. The fact they were beaten so soundly still hasn't gotten through their neandertal skulls and in their anger and frustration (which should be directed at themselves and their own corrupt party) the hatred flows at a fever pitch.

My hopes are that the more these shitstains show their ugly and evil, the more isolated they will become. Dangerous...yes, but best isolated than anywhere near the levers of power at this delicate time.

Cheers...

9. Is it wrong of me to think less of MLK because of the way he treated
Edited on Mon Jan-19-09 10:45 AM by Kalyke
his wife?

He cheated on her. That bothers me, fundamentally. It did when Clinton did it. Just because "everyone does it" (no they don't), doesn't mean it doesn't bother me. It's not necessarily any of my business, but as someone who's first husband did the same, I know the hurt and pain that causes.

That said, I can still recognize his successes and dreams, but I have a hard time with the "great man" part. Great men don't feel the need to lie to their spouses (I am married to a great man, now). :)

Happy MLK Day, though. I do mean that.
