No More Pardons, Commutations
As per reporter on MSNBC. The press had been told to expect something today, one last list which was the border guards. The WH said they would not release a list tomorrow. It seems, according to the reporter, that this was it. If so, it is exactly what I thought, because it is my contention that * doesn't actually give a damn about anyone and they can all go to hell now that he's done with them.

7. Seems Not, Thank God
Keep in mind * is basically a pretty mean spirited guy. Look at how he treated McClellan. Also, he doesn't need the Dick anymore so boo to Libby. By this time tomorrow we will know for sure but the report seemed pretty definitive.

11. If Libby is pardoned
Libby has no reason not to talk. They don't want Libby to talk.

16. To What Advantage?
I can't see Obama pardoning him. A pardon would buy his loyalty. That's what makes this so amazing. I truly hope we don't get a last minute turnaround.

5. Doesn't Seem So
Keep in mind he's been relentless in saying he hasn't made any mistakes and done nothing wrong. If he issues pardons that makes that stance a lie and him culpable.

14. If pardons are issued, those pardoned cannot plead the fifth if asked to testify.
Anyone pardoned could essentially nail the bush administration to the wall without fear of repercussions. I don't expect any more pardons.

18. There Has Been A Campaign Recently On Libby's Behalf
Poor guy, traitor that he is, cant work in his chosen field. Maybe he should write a book, "Why I Betrayed My Country For Dick Cheney's Sake"

6. "Your on your own, fellas!" I love it.
As my parents used to tell me "You lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas."

Anybody who went along with this adminsitration and thought Bush would bail them out is outta luck. Serves them right...let the axe fall where it may...

13. Exactly Right
He may even, wrapped as he is in victimhood think they are responsible for all the ills of his admin as well as the criticism he has been getting and the fact that he's considered to be the worst president ever.

21. This is probably the most likely explanation
Not pardoning = punishment for lack of complete unquestioning loyalty and adoration.

He probably has even engaged in a little mental torture by stringing them along to the last minute. It's probably the 1st that some of them have realized they are not going to be pardoned.

15. No, its an indication that they haven't. Pardoning would proctect the administration.
As I stated earlier. Anyone pardoned would not be able to plead the fifth amendment and refuse to testify on the basis of self-incrimination. This is an indicator that there has been NO DEAL!

I wouldn't be surprised to see several Presidential Pardons pop up in the future if certain Bush Administration officials are actually put on trial.

19. Why should they bother to announce these pardons?
For the most egregious, Bush can execute one of his cute signing statements that pardons all of these crooks. Then, we will have to wait for some crack investigative reporter to find it.

20. Raw Story: Don't expect more Bush pardons, NBC News told
<snip>

"As soon as Monday's news broke that President George W. Bush had commuted the prison sentences of two former Border Patrol agents, NBC's John Yang reported that NBC News had been told not to expect any more pardons or commutations from President Bush before President-elect Obama takes office.

"We have been told to expect one final wave or one final list, clemency list, from the president which we've now gotten," Yang said on MSNBC. "We were also told it would not come on inauguration day. They would not do it in the last-minute fashion that President Clinton did. We're told that this is it. These are the only two names on the list today. We're told to expect nothing more over the next 24 hours."
