At my local post office, the people in line demanded the portrait of Bush be taken down
According to my neighbor who was at the post office yesterday around lunch time, he said that people demanded the portrait be taken down. They had to get a supervisor to do it since the clerks were pretty busy.

How about your post office or federal building? I've heard they don't have any Obama official portraits yet.

9. There were no pictures of bush around
my town. There was one in the library around 2001 but one of the Librarians took it down not too long later.

Thankfully, cause I use to go into the library and make sure I didn't look at the part of that wall.

21. Our local post office used to have the poster for the movie
The Postman on the wall. I was disappointed when they took it down. Great David Brin story.

27. I don't know why they didn't have any official portraits ready to go
Edited on Thu Jan-22-09 08:30 PM by DeschutesRiver
They figured out how to move the Bush family out and the Obama family in within a 24 hour period. Bet the official stationery is ready also. We've known Obama was PE since November. Yeah, technically, it would have been an official photo of a president elect, not a president.

28. Guess they can't do everything at once - they don't have the WH comment line up either.
And I'm OK with that, because all I wanted to say was "THANK YOU for what you've done so far!"

30. I am hoping President Obama portrait as replaced Bush's at the Houston VA hospital.
I hated walking in the front lobby and seeing Bush.

I will know next week when I take my father there for his next visit.
