Obama snubbed military at inaugural balls - NOT!
Aside from the frothing about how Obama didn't take the presidential oath and is therefore not president, the wingnuts are saying Obama went out of his way to snub the military by not attending the American Legion's Medal of Honor ball.

So is it true that Obama decided to snub those that serve in the US armed forces during the inaugural balls last night? The answer is no.

Actually, the American Legion web site has a picture of Obama on its front page attending the commander in chief's ball ( http://www.legion.org )

Stars and Stripes has pictures of Mr. and Mrs. Obama at the Commander in Chief's ball held at the national building museum

and Medal of Honor winners were invited and attended the commander in chiefs ball as well

5. These are Medal of Honors winners. Couldn't even ONE of them scare up a date?
Or is this just one of those "boys' night out; ring in a new government" type deals?

9. The one on the front row, with the glasses
not the one in the middle.

He was claiming Obama was trying to pay them back for supporting McCain.

"So Jack Jacobs is trying to say that Obama is "snubbing veterans as a payback"
Jack Jacobs ("military analyst for MSNBC", who was constantly dumping on Obama for the past year) was just making a big deal of Obama supposedly not attending the Veterans ball tomorrow night, and saying that it was "payback for the military supporting Mccain over Obama". He also snuck in plenty of digs at the Clintons during his 1600 PA Ave visit, and then added that "Even the Clintons attended the Veterans ball". I don't know if/why Obama is not attending the Veterans ball tomorrow night, but if he isn't, it's very shitty for Jacobs to say outright that it is a calculated move as "payback"....he constantly has a partisan slant to his "analysis", and I am fucking sick of it."

13. The Salute to Heroes ball
is different than the Commander in Chief's ball. It has a completely different focus. It's a ball to salute those very, very few who survived the act that earned them the nation's highest military honor. This has been a tradition that every president has taken part in for over 50 years. Every president except Obama. With every single minute of his day scripted to the last minute, any thinking person would have to wonder why he chose not to attend.

I DON'T AGREE that he wanted to snub the military. I DO wish that he would have made a different choice in his schedule. It would have been such a small thing for him to do, and these few men who offered up their lives for their country in the face of seemingly certain death deserved better. To say otherwise is to pull political shades over your eyes. That's what we accuse the right wingers of. Let's not do the same thing ourselves.
