What did Pat Buchanan mean by comparing...
Edited on Thu Jan-22-09 08:47 AM by vaberella
former President Clinton to Martin Luther King Jr.

This is what he said on that damn Morning Joe...in regards to Bill Clinton..."He would be the most difficult cabinet spouse since Martin Luther King Jr."

I just need a bit of understanding into this mans brain...because I'm starting to get pissed he's allowed to spout his trash on morning television.

Also...Apparently he had a tiff of Obama taken his Presidency picture in the Oval Office without a suit jacket. Then claims it's informal...my moment of ranting:

WTF?! Now Obama can't take his suit jacket without some sort of drama. Not that Mika Mouse is worth an ounce of intelligence, but I actually liked her defense in an offhanded way she put it. I think it was becasue those people spent about 2 hours intermittently bashing Obama for shite.

1. without a suit jacket, don't you mean
Without a shirt would be a tad too informal. But I like the idea of him rolling up his sleeves and getting to work.

3. The suit jacket thing is part of the Regan myth.
Edited on Thu Jan-22-09 08:50 AM by davepc
Carter had the audacity to work in a sweater and St. Ronald Regan himself wouldn't even step foot in the oval office himself without a suit jack on. Anything less would be disrespecting the office (like Carter allegedly did). Bush Sr. and Jr. kept up the "tradition".

What started out as a cheap shot at Carter turned into some high holy oval office protocol for Republicans.

It's all right wing noise machine bullshit.

6. Ahhh...that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up.
Huh...so that was the point of the jacket, that's interesting actually. Now I have to get this MLK Jr./Bill Clinton thing around my head.

8. Suck on it and like it. Obama, like Clinton, is going to spend long hours in the OO just as a prez
should. As FDR did, and GHWB and Carter did.

Reagan and GWB were not in there all that much. No need to take off the jacket.

Learn to suck on it and like it, Pat.

10. I can't believe they complain
about such pointless garbage. It shouldn't matter what he wears in there. The media doesn't even do their job anymore, they just report on rumors, and argue over crap like this.

11. Nancy R was appalled that Bubba wore a polo shirt in the Oval Office, but he'd be there...
until late hours. He'd go back after dins. The man didn't sleep.

The presidency takes a lot of time, IF you do it right.

Go 'Bama!
