People who justify torture do not have the moral clarity to serve in the government.
In any capacity at any level. That is all.

1. Right.
Is this the USA or isn't it? What kind of freedom are we defending if we throw the law and the Constitution out the window?

2. State-sponsored torture is a crime on par with genocide.

5. Previously, I thought that there was probably ONE sentence in the entire world that everyone could
agree with:

Torture is never justifiable and is the hallmark of a brutal, sadistic, uncivilized society or group.

**********************************************************************************************************************************
I can't believe that within my lifetime people who purport to be moral, just members of society in this country, which is supposed to be based on liberty and JUSTICE, would find ways to excuse barbarism. Particulalry sad is how many hang their theories on a TV show antihero and infantile theories that are stymied in a 4 year old's world view:

But what if the person is really really really bad and they are the only ones who know about something really really really bad that is going to happen in 24 hours and what if we really really really hate to do it, but it's the only way to save the country, the world and still have time for commercial breaks. Is it ok then?
